The page you are currently looking at is my day-to-day blog. There are others! You can navigate to them by using the links on the right hand side of this page, and then between them in a similar fashion. Not An Ivory Tower is a collection of some of my writings deriving from my post-doctoral research with an inter-faith seminary in the States; Celebrating the Year offers thoughts, short liturgies, prayers, food suggestions, and decorative ideas for various festivals, times and seasons; Tro Breizh is the beginning of a devotional calendar of Breton saints; Threshold contains templates/scripts which can be personalised (with my help if you wish) for such occasions as births, betrothals, marriages, new homes, farewells, and partings; and Finding Balance is a series of workshops based on the chakra system. This week

My self-set task for this coming week is a study of 1 Corinthians 12.1-11, Paul's teaching about spiritual gifts:

Spiritual gifts: Read/study 1 Cor. 12.1-11, https://bible.org/seriespage/6-spiritual-gifts-1-corinthians-121-11, https://spiritualgiftstest.com/spiritual-gifts, and Galatians 5. Now list your own spiritual gifts, and how you will cultivate others

The study notes are ok, and the 'test' results slot me into being an Apostle (defined as the leader of leaders and minister to ministers), a Leader (those who "care for God’s people and lead them relationally and with a deep concern for the well being of others") and an Administrator (the title deriving from a Greek word otherwise used exclusively of a ship-master or captain).

And while I'm good with all those roles, it does all feel a bit trite, and not a little frustrating. Which is a pity, since I was really simply offering a little counter-balance to the Christmas gift jamboree of this month with a different sort of gifting. Or perhaps I'm just feeling a bit jaded. In which case, sorry! :-)
